Normally, for the 1.591 polycarbonate single vision lenses, the power range is:

SPH 0.00 to -8.00 and CYL 0.00 to 2.00 with 70mm diameter

SPH +0.25 to +6.00 and CYL 0.00 to 2.00 with 65mm diameter

For High CYL, the power range is:

SPH 0.00 to -6.00 and CYL -2.25 to -4.00 with 70mm diameter

SPH +0.25 to +6.00 and CYL -2.25 to-4.00 with 65mm diameter

For High high CYL, the power range is:

SPH 0.00 to -6.00 and CYL -4.25 to -4.00 with 70mm diameter

SPH +0.25 to +6.00 and CYL -4.25 to-4.00 with 65mm diameter

if any other powers are beyond these power ranges, all will be made as prescription lenses.

Why we use 1.591 polycarbonate single vision lenses？ i think it have many reasons, for example:

1. The weight is light for polycarbonate lenses, which is over 37% lighter than the common optical resin lenses, it is also thinner,  in that case, the polycarbonate lenses can help to relieve the pressure on the bridge of the nose.

2. With good impact resistance.  for the 1.591 polycarbonate lenses, its impact resistance is much better than the normal resin lenses, like CR39 1.499, 1.56 resin lenses and so on. after testing,  the impact resistance value of the polycarbonate lenses is more than 10 times stronger than traditional resin lenses and over 60 times stronger than glass lenses,  so, it is one of the most anti-collision lenses in the market, especially under thickening treatment,  the polycarbonate material is well known as the bullet-resisting glass.

3. Good ultraviolet-proof performance. The raw material of polycarbonate lenses has the good function of anti-ultraviolet, no matter its coated or not, but for the other optical lenses, it have to be coated, then it can get the same function.

4. 1.591 Polycarbonate lenses is suitable for children, athletes, police officers, drivers and other peoples in different environments,  so this kind of lenses is with more useful for the users.

5. 1.591 PC lenses is not easy to get yellow. maybe 3 years, 5 years, it is with clear base color, not getting yellowish,  but for the other ordinary resin lenses, it is more faster to get base color changing.

6. The surface of polycarbonate lenses is smooth, which can reduce the internal scattering of lenses , and reduce the damage of light to our retina, so it is very healthier.

Main Coatings of the 1.591 Polycarbonate single vision lenses:

1, HC, also called Hard coating, , it is to protect the uncoated lenses of polycarbonate lenses from scratch resistance, in that case, the lenses will not easy to get scratch.

2, HMC, the full name is Hard multi coated or Anti-reflective coating, it is to protect the lenses effectively from scratch resistance and light reflection, to enhance the function and clarity of the lenses, normally, it have some different coating colors for selection, such as Green coating, Blue coating, Red coating, Gold coating, Yellow Green coating and so on, the most one is Green coating, but polycarbonate UV420 blue block lenses, Blue coating is more use.

3, SHMC, it is HMC with super hydrophobic, base on HMC coating, it will have one more coating procedure for the lenses, it is the super hydrophobic coating, which makes the polycarbonate lenses with waterproof, anti-slip and oil resistance, in that case, the lenses can be used in many different environments.
